More cuts made.  Some trunks and branches left alone save a few shoots thinned and others completely denuded of branches.  A few chunks 'o trunk removed.  Next year will be the time to remove sections of large trunk again before the tree leafs out.  It needs to be container-bound first.

The base will be layered at about the level of my finger.

The large trunk in the back left will be completely removed eventually.

Removing all the branches on that big trunk in the center of the photo will allow me to train branches straight up allowing air and light to reach the negihboring branches I'll keep.

Final show ready height will eventually be around 16"  ;D

Nice to see it in a container. Still looks huge!  When will you do the layer?

Likely going to layer in 3 years.  Have to cut and heal a number of points first.  Planning to try the van Meer technique on one part this summer.  Look it up  ;).

Thanks for that information Owen.  I looked it up and it definitely is something that I will try as well in the future.

I found this page very informative with loads of images that explains the technique should anyone be interested.
