Tsuga candensis 'Sargenti'
« on: July 19, 2014, 08:33 PM »
This morning my son and I stopped by a local garden nursery and I spotted this weeping Canadian Hemlock. Showed it to shim and purchased it for $45. He thinks he can see a bonsai in it somewhere. Literati no doubt. As I prepared supper for my sister and brother-in-law, he went to work and did an initial style and now needs to be wired. It will be a long term project with much to be done. Not sure the tree can be maintained well here. I do not see many of the in the St. LOuis landscapes but for $45 nothing to loose. The tree has been neglected for several years in the nursery and needs some tender loving care. We'll see how she performs.  JRob
