Spruce #3
« on: June 20, 2011, 07:33 PM »
So, this one was kind of a bonus.  As I was collecting Spruce # 1, http://bonsaistudygroup.com/conifer-bonsai-discussion/spruce-1/I had originally thought this was growing off of the same root system.  Problem was it was on the other side of the rail, and I thought it would need to be sawed off.  Turns out it was on it's own roots, and I decided it would become my "spruce test dummy."  If I can recall, the pictures should be from right after collection in April of last year, followed by a late summer styling '10.

Over the last couple days, I removed all the wire, and got the dremel out to work on some of the deadwood.  I then wired nearly everything that was left.  I'm including shots of the deadwood, the tree after wiring (no placement), and after placing the branches.  I will no doubt tweak it a bit over the coming days.  I find that by posting the pictures, I get a better idea how to "fix" the trees once I look at the pictures for a bit.

And a few different angles after the preliminary placement.
