Good work.  The resultant tree wasn't obvious (from that angle) in the before shot.  You've done well to bring out a tree with a real future.

How much of it was "seen" before hand, and how much was discovered?  Anything you'd have done differently if you could go back?

Wayne, Thanks.  It wasn't so much about "seeing" the tree inside, as "seeing" what parts wouldn't make for good bonsai.  I quickly decided on the obvious "faulty" parts, and removed them.  After these "obvious" cuts are made, it becomes much easier to find the tree within.

I'm very pleased with the result, and sould do it the same all over again.

This is a great tree.. It has major potential.. You could have a variety of pot choices when its ready.. A small slab, rock pot, shallow oval... Nice movement with the tree as well. How tall is the tree?.. If it is shohin size,  I think that will make it even more impressive

Thanks Rob.
It is bigger than shohin for sure, somewhere in the foot and a half range.

Dave, I am sorry.  I have not said anything before because I covet this Juni.  Awesome job.  I can't wait to see where you decide to take it over the next few years.  Have you drew a picture of what you want this tree to look like, in say ten years?
