New Bunjin
« on: October 29, 2010, 05:58 PM »
Hello all.. I picked this tree up the other day. It is a procumbens. It is about 16 inches tall and has a 3 1/2 inch base. There could be 3 different fronts. However, the one in the pic is the one I have chosen. There is a very sharp sideways horse shoe like curve in the lower part of the trunk, by turning it, The curve is minimized and has a better flow to it.

Looks like a nice ability to open up the shari in the future.  Great trunk line.

I do not really have a particular pot in mind.. Next season , I will go through al lthe literati pots and nursery and see what comes to mind.. If I had to chose... maybe....A regular round, a shallow round with royal like feet, or maybe a wabi sabi or other lop sided like pot...

As far as the shari..I am not sure that more shari can be done. There is actually quite a bit that has been meticulously done already. Whoever had it before, must have put quite a bit of effort into this tree.

Also, the entire bottom 50% of the shari if not wood, it is cement...So, I must be correct in assuming that someone cared a lot about this tree to put this much effort into it.
