I'm not sure if these are 'Nanas' or not.

Do you see potential in either of these?  Have any ideas?  Tips?  Hopefully I'll have some after pictures of one/both this weekend.

Yes, they look like they have some potential, but you are the one looking at these trees in person, and you are pretty much the only one that can truly answer that. They look very similar. I have always want to try one of these but have not crossed paths with the right one yet. Look forward to seeing pics after the styling.

A lot of potential in those two, IMHO. In the absolute worst case, you can always graft itoigawa or shimpaku in a few years.
