I'm sure some would feel that it would ruin what this tree already has going for it, but this one seems to be slanting for the sake of slanting.  Even as it is, I can't really understand the decision to remove all branching from the right side of the trunk.

I don't know that I would agree, Wayne. In the first place, this looks to me to be a pretty good use of material with no limbs on one side. I don't see scars or jins where good branching was removed, only one jin way up at the top, and it may be moving to the back rather than the right.

While I believe this might also make an excellent literati tree, I like it as it is.

Mike, this is one of my favorites of your trees.

Can you tell us more about the development of this one?

This tree has a nice feel, too much foliage for my likes, but it does work well.

Irene, the color seems to be poorly influenced by flash plotography. I'm posting a picture taken in sunlight. This is more true to the pot.

Wayne, the slant was already in the tree when I acquired it. Also, the primary branching is the same as when acquired. I got it in a trade because I liked the severe slant. The main work has involved putting it in the Ryerson pot and secondary branch refinment. You can see the primary and secondary branching better in the top down view.
