I is a nice Hinoki.

What I am confused about, is the rock. Since the rock is entirely under the tree, and is not shown in any meaningful way, why is it there at all?
When we create a rock planting bonsai, we show a special relationship between the rock and the tree. In this case, the rock just plays the role of the soil.
I am just curious about the rationale behind the planting.
