Deadwood techniques
« on: July 09, 2013, 05:43 PM »
I'm curiuos who might have some advise on creating deadwood on a Limber Pine.  I have tree that is mainly trunk and would look good if i could uimitate a severe lightening encounter.

I have completed Phase I - removed some branches and peeled some bark off in strategic places, mainly at the apex.

As i think what is needed next, I am curious if lime sulphur is appropriate or if i should set it aside and check back in a few months to see what the colorado sun and wind has done in whitening the exposed wood.

I should add that i have not yet used any power tools.  Just going one small step at a time.  Open to all suggestions.

Any comments?
Thanks in advance.
