Jason E:
Thought I'd share another tree that came out of the workshop this fall w/ it's first styling.
This is a tree collected by Jerry Morris in Colorado.
This is one of a handful of truly ancient trees that came from a unique microclimate where the trees were growing over a spring, causing them to have very shallow and high quality root structure. Trees from this area were essentially root pruned every year when the spring would freeze shearing the roots. Others may have more to add about Jerry Morris or trees from this area. It is my understanding that there aren't any more coming from this area, that and the collector give this tree have a bit of historical significance.
I was fortunate enough to find one of these trees that had yet to be styled, Ryan gets most of the credit for styling although I did have a hand in it.    Some shots of before styling. And after.                                                                                                                                                                                                Cheers,

JE
