chuhin olive
« on: October 15, 2010, 02:10 AM »
Jame has worked on this olive for 5 years.  it started out as a stump from the garden.  he brought to the workshop for the first time.  we cut all the branches off.  we repotted it.  after he took it home.  he told his wife what we did.  she asked him - are you sure about taking workshop from this man?  that was 5 years ago.
a couple months later he brought it back.  it had lots of new shoots about 6-8" long.  we thin them out and wired.  then let it grow and rewire for the whole growing season. After a year we cut it back and repeat the same process.  it was shown at BIB show at least once.  i will look for the picture.
this is what the tree looks like in August, 2010.
before and after work.

Thanks for posting this Boon!

Beautiful work.

These days I've been interested in trying olive trees for bonsai. Can they grow well indoors?
