Adair M:
Wayne, thanks for posting these trees!

Wow!  They look great!  To my eye, the quality was higher than the NC Expo. You've been to both, what do you think?

Leo in NE Illinois:
some very, very nice trees. Inspiring.

This show, the Winter Silhouettes show in Kannapolis NC, is fantastic.  The venue is gorgeous and spacious.  There seems to be some sort of selection/application process for participating in the show.

I got the sense that this show is less geared toward the general public and more for the artists.  After seeing this one in person, its made my list of not-to-be-missed shows for me.

There were some awards given out, but I don't recall what they were and I'm not sure how they're doled out, other than the public vote.

I was there for Bill Valavanis' Chinese Quince demo that saw one overgrown bush reduced back to a trunkline and another wired almost completely.  I hate I didn't get to see Owen's Pitch Pine demo on Sunday.  (Maybe either of them have pictures?)

Also, there was a pretty elaborate photo set up (sure to shame these iPhone 6 pictures), so someone somewhere has high quality pictures of these trees.  I'm not sure if there will be a book ...or where we'd be able to find them ...or when.

Owen Reich:
The application process for entering the exhibition is open to all.  It's not a club oriented exhibition, but one for individuals to participate in.  The website had the app form on a first come, first serve basis due to the size of the venue (which is spectacular).  I'll make sure to post a thread about it on here next year.  Bill Valavanis will likely have a blog post on the matter and / or potentially an article or gallery in his magazine International Bonsai Magazine.  I'll be writing an article for BCI Magazine.  All exhibitors will receive a DVD of the exhibition photos taken by Joe Noga.  Joe devotes a great deal of time and energy to producing these and does a wonderful job not only at this event, but all many others like the National Exhibitions.

Thanks for posting photos.  It was a great event all-around and will be even better next year.
