New Club Meeting at NE Bonsai
« on: January 14, 2014, 07:26 PM »
After my Kaikou classes ended in November I decided to take the initiative to form a new bonsai club in my area. The club will be mostly made up of Kaikou School graduates but will be open to anyone. There are a few fellow forum members that are already attending and I thought I would open it up to the rest of the forum.

Our first meeting is on February 22nd from 1:30- 4:30 at NE Bonsai in Bellingham. If you're interested in joining us please feel free to PM me so I can add you to the email distribution.

Tom, you snagged my Chickasaw Plum from from Florida......  It's ok, I got the other three  ;D.  Great to hear another group is forming.

Owen, tell me you got the one with the split trunk? I loved that one but didn't feel worthy to work on it yet. If you make it up this way again maybe you could do a workshop for our group.

Judy as usual, you are always welcome to attend!

I'll be at MABS and still in town for a few days afterward.  If interested, I can arrange other work in the area and drive up.  I'd love to visit New England Bonsai again.  Great selection of material there and some guy named John also likes bunjin......

Oddly enough, I have a week before and after the MABS event open before going to Meehan's Minaitures and Israel event shortly thereafter.

I purchased the other three as all have potential as our native version of Japanese Flowering Apricot.  I want 200......

Well I don't know if we will be organized enough by then but I'll see what I can do. Might be better to start planning for next year.

Seeing some of Paul's more "finished" chickasaws I think it could definitely become an American ume. I'm looking forward to working with the species.
