Ok, somewhat updated.  I'll confirm and try to get more info regarding tree/pot tomorrow.

Something about that Shimpaku? makes me very happy.

I really like it.

Send my thanks to the owner/artist if you come across them.

Thanks!

The "shimpaku?" Is Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Hage'.  Sold that it owner about 4 years ago.  The other "not sure". Is a Colorado Blue Spruce.

Jim Doyle and Young Choe have done a great job.

Owen,

That is your styling then?

It actually looks like your work a bit unkempt.

Very WOW. It looks so grand. But. It seems like it shouldnt. But it is...

Thanks John for the labels.  Some really nice things at this show, very clean and looks well put together.
As an aside, I think the backgrounds would be better if a solid could be used instead of pipe and drape.  I only say this because the one thing that I observed at the Regional show here at Dawes, was the solid partition backgrounds were really great as they were not distracting from the tree in any way.  I know this may not be possible everywhere, but it's just something that catches my eye.  Looks like the organizers did a great job getting great trees, and setting it up with enough space around each display.
Wish I could be there!!!

In the second group of the pictures John posted is a clump style JBP.  You hardly ever see that!

And that clump looks really nice. If just a bit out of proportion.
Look forward to its future!

I noticed the clump JBP as well and liked the unusual factor of it!

The Chamaecyparis 'Hage' is not mine or styled by me, but I did find the plant and sold it to the new owner.  Pipe and drape is cost effective and I do agree about the benefits of sheer backdrops Judy.  The black pine clump is one I've styled for a client.  46 years from a seed packet  ;D.  Excellent BP clump with small bark plates and a ton of depth.  The lichen doesn't photograph well though.

It was a wonderful show that I will only get better next year with multiple organizations contributing to planning and execution next year.  There will likely also be a suiseki exhibition as well.

Thanks for the nice photos Matsu and Billie  ;D.

Here are some photos I took...noting that they're probably fairly redundant...
Great job on the show Owen.
