GMBS Member Show June 5

This Sunday June 5, is our member show. It will be at Mill Brook Bonsai in Jericho Vermont. Our guest speaker is Min Hsuan Lo from Chung-Hua, Taiwan. Anyone with interest, let me know and I'll come forth with details. Remember we are a small club with small town feeling, but it is always a great day......

Perhaps I see some of you who want a day in the mountains of Vermont

Well, we had a great Day with Lo. He is a wonderful gentlemen. In the morning he went through and gave the members advise and feedback on our trees. In the afternoon he did a demo. The tree he selected was a Boxwood that I collected. It was planted out in a field at a friends home 35 years ago. A picture before the work is attached as well as one that was taken nearly at the end of his work. Sorry, didn't get one at the completion.

He should be great for you if he is on your schedule.

I should add he decided that the tree was to be a windswept. He kept the front the same but raised it up 90 degrees from the back. When I get back to Vermont (I'm on a family road trip...long story) I'll try and get a good picture of the tree as it is now.

OK, back from my little road trip. I'm attaching two pictures of the tree as it is now. Not the greatest pictures but the only ones I'll have for a few months. I've decided to leave the Boxwood at Mill Brook Bonsai for the summer. Hope whoever stopped by to see the pictures enjoyed. This probably will end this thread.

Sounds like a good time.  Min Hsuan Lo will be at Bonsai in the Bluegrass this week, and will be doing a demo as well.  I'm excited to see his work up close and personal.  

Any chance of a bigger/better photo of Lo's work?

Greetings John, Lo was a pleasure to be with. As for pictures, he will have with him his book of his work. Really nice pictures and well done. As for the Vermont demo Boxwood, I had a computer meltdown last week, lost everything..... and no I hadn't backed up yet. So all the pictures from the demo are gone. I'm glad I at least uploaded a couple here. When I stopped by yesterday to see how the tree was doing I only had a few minutes. The two you see are the best I got. The tree was too heavy to move and I could not quickly find a good back drop.
