Hello,

Here are a couple of photos of a new form that I have been working with.

A diamond shaped pot finished in one of my ash glazes.

Slant style deciduous / broadleaf evergreen trees would look nice in it. 

Looks nice.  May look even better with narrower width feet.

How's a diamond shape any different than say... a square?

Beautiful pot.  I love the colors in the glaze!

In regards to your question, it's all about the proportions.

I didn't mean to sound quite so sarcastic (hey, its a gift!).  I seriously did think it was much more square-shaped than the last picture reveals that it is.

I don't see many bonsai pots that are square, much less diamond shaped.  And I'll stand behind my earlier comment: I love that glaze!

It was a legitimate question. 

My description of "diamond shaped" was a bit vague.

I appreciate the positive feedback on the Glaze.  That is one of my ash based glazes that is called Patina green.

You're last picture, is that an oval dish?
What sizes does it come in.?

Hello Dirk,

Yes, the last photo is an oval pot that measures 18" x 15" x 4".

Love this coloring, and the pots..., I have a tree that would look great in the last one, but would need a bit larger. Possible?

Love the glaze too.  My wonder is positioning, I guess it would have to be slanted to compliment the diamond.

Honestly?- the glaze doesn't do it for me.  Maybe if it was more brown based... Too pepto for me, but then again, I'm not a pink kinda girl.  I keep trying to figure out what plant would work in this color, maybe an azalea?

Looks very much like a dessert  :).  This species, Osteomeles subrotunda could look good.  Darker could be an improvement.
