Jerry, the thickness is just from experience I guess, depending on clay used and size of pot. Also, if feet are CUT IN like this pot it must be thicker when thrown, but if feet are added it can be thinner since you aren't cutting anything away.
yes, pot was flipped and bottom cut after it was leather-hard.

There isn't a dark blue pot?
I guess you are thinking about the last picture?
It is Oribe green. Maybe it looks blue on your computer?
It is one of my favorite colors.
That was a 16" inside pot I made for Colin Lewis for this Alder which was shown last year in Rochester at the National display.
