The potter's name is Yokoyama-san but the pots are called "Misho" pots. Yokoyama-san signs the bottom of each pot with a seedling image as he feels it's crucial to always keep a "beginner's mind" for his art. He is from Kyoto and has been making pots for 6 years now. He uses wood, gas, and electric firing depending on the desired glaze effect. Also, different clays are blended together to make the final color of the glaze deeper, softer, etc.
He is a great guy and doesn't make a ton of pots a year. I have about 30 of the 75 pots I started with left : ). Anyone interested can email me although I'm still on the road teaching. I can send photos direct as they are selling fast.
