Collected juniper
« on: April 29, 2016, 09:25 PM »
This tree and another were set to be cut down this coming Sunday. I was able to dig one this afternoon and hope to be able to collect the other one tomorrow. Not having a large supply of potting medium or anywhere to aquire the right stuff in a days time I was able to purchase a few large bags of hydro clay pebbles. The tree pictured first had the majority of it's feeder roots towards the top of the trunk. I had to make a judgement call and for the top 1/3 layer of soil I used a mix of sphagum, peat, and perlite. All I had on hand. I am glad for this cooler and wet weather we are having in Northwestern Missouri right now.
