Juniper rescue not a waste of time
« on: June 10, 2016, 02:54 AM »
I collected this tree in April of this year as you all know. It was set to be cut down with a chain saw. And as I have said before. I have nothing but time. Surely this tree had 80% more foliage when I collected it than it does now. But I have lived and learned. With limited resources and suppliesthis tree was almost destined for the burn pit. Also a great lack of knowledge on my part about collecting. Juniper species in particular. But. Here we are today. Soft foliage. Almost no roots at all though. Basically none to speak of really. I have met someone though that has shared a great deal of proven knowledge with me in this past week. Very thankful for that. And I truly believe that if I am vigilante this tree will make it through a Northwestern Missouri summer and hold strong through the winter. This tree really seems to have a will to survive given that I took it from a completely shaded environment and threw it straight into the sun not knowing a damn thing about after care for collected junipers. Yeah. I know. Keep the fucker out of the sun stupid. Well I did my best. But my mature black walnuts just werent enough. Anyway here it as it was in April and pics from today as well

Winter will be the real test if it makes it that long. Good luck.

I know. And winter is not that far off. It is pushing new growth right now. Thats a better sign than foliage turning brown. Thanks M. Frary. I would have posted sooner but there is either somtheing wrong with the forums server or my internet.
