Hello All,
I thought I'd share some pics of some plants that I collected in the foothills of the Olympic Mountains here in WA State.
One is Oregon Grape.
Not sure what varegrated one is, it's like a ground cover plant that sends up a stalk w/ a flower.
Thought it would be fun to get them into some nice little pots in the spring and try them out.
Thinking they might be a nice complement to my native mt. hemlocks and some other western conifers I have.

That second one is cool   Grin.  When I get back I'll trade you something for a few. Mahonia will likely prove challenging unless you display it with a very big bonsai.  You could always make a "stand-alone" kusamono with a few other natives.

The second one is a native orchid Goodyera oblongifolia. Common name Rattlesnake plantain.

Owen, absolutlly let me know. I actually got these on my own property so can get more anytime.
How much longer will you be over there Owen?
I'd love to make a proposal to the club for you to be one on our guest artist. We usually have someone different at every meeting. 
This year we had Michael H, Ryan Neil, boon, David Degroot and others.

I return to America December 4th for a while.  Visa expires then and have some responsibilities state-side.  I would love to visit your club and also check out the local scene there.  I used to live in Boring, OR when I interned at Iseli Nursery.  Miss Mt. Hood National Forest.....

Looks like I'll be on the West Coast in February.  Happy to visit any time though.
